About this item:

  • Red Prayer Plants originate from the tropics in Brazil and love to dance in the moonlight. They get their nickname “prayer plant” from their leaves folding up at night, which mimics hands praying. It’s been said they do this to make sure their roots get access to rainfall.
  • Sunlight: Low to bright indirect light. Direct light will burn its leaves.
  • Water: Once a week. Soil can stay slightly moist.
  • Very pet-friendly!
  • Great for beginners and building that green thumb.
  • Pro-tip: Use filtered water when watering, or let tap water sit for a day prior. This prevents leaf tip burn.
  • Ships fast and directly from our greenhouse to your home. All Rooted plants are grown and certified in Florida. We also offer a 14-day guarantee on all of our plants to make sure you’re satisfied.
  • This plant ships in a 4″ wide grower’s pot. Height of plant is approximately 8″-14″ tall from the bottom of the pot to the top of the plant. Plant size and appearance may vary at times based on the batch they were grown in, but beautiful nonetheless.

My Review:

  • I was impressed by the speed of the delivery!
  • The packaging was secure and official but was disappointed that it did not come with a saucer or at least a plastic one.
  • The color! It is so beautiful–how can I not be obsessed with those red-tinted leaves?
  • Since it is great for beginners and thus does not need as much attention, I placed the plant with my low maintenance plants.
  • A great idea for a gift! I feel like a lot of plant gifts are usually succulents and cactuses so I would recommend the Prayer Plant to spice it up!
